The Community of Fatima is one of the Communities that belongs to the General House, it is dependent on the Region of Spain and is made up of 8 Sisters of different nationalities.
Las Hijas de Santa María del Corazón de Jesús, aquí en Fátima, tenemos como misión reparar al Inmaculado Corazón de Nuestra Señora, interceder por el Instituto y sus obras apostólicas y procurar introducirnos, por la dimensión contemplativa de nuestro Carisma, en las relaciones de ese Corazón, con Dios Trinidad, en el Corazón de Jesucristo.
On February 17, 2023, the Bishop of Leiría-Fátima, Mons. José Ornelas Carvalho, celebrated the opening mass for the Community of the Daughters of Holy Mary of the Heart of Jesus in the Diocese.
The apostolic mission of receiving pilgrims that come to visit Our Lady of Fatima complements our contemplative mission. We give them a family-like welcome that makes them feel at home, and above all, we pray for them, so that these days before Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, strengthens their faith and brings them closer to God.

The Desire of a Mother
We don’t know at what moment our Mother María de Jesús received the inspiration to make our Institute present in Fatima, but we know that 1999 she made a pilgrimage with some members of the General House and she searched for property, houses and other possibilities in order to set up a Community.
Para nuestra Madre Fundadora, la devoción al Sagrado Corazón estaba profundamente unida a la devoción al Corazón Inmaculado de Nuestra Señora.
In reality, we don’t know the place or the time our Lady had reserved for us. We waited with peace, sure that the best moment would arrive. We imagined the future house as a place of prayer, for the church and the Institute, in which there would be a Community from whose profound Marian filiation would flow their principal mission: Perpetual adoration and reparation to the Heart of Jesus for our own sins and those of the whole world.
Our Mission
We are completely available for all that the Fatima Shrine asks of us, in the measure that the work of the house and our prayer life permits.
We collaborate as lectors and singers for the mass celebrated in Spanish in the Capelinha; we lead some of the mysteries of the International Rosary and we help as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion at masses. We want to give an authentic testimony of our consecration, sharing our joy and offering to those around us the compassion of the Heart of Jesus.

Come and pilgrimage to Fatima
The house belongs to the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary Mother of the Church and we are renting it. There are 48 rooms distributed between 5 floors with a total of 118 beds. Also we have a Chapel and a small oratory on the first floor of Cloister. There is a large dining room, for 110 guests and a bar cafeteria for 16 more. We have diverse rooms distributed on the different levels of the house with furniture, and a library for pilgrims. Each room has a bathroom and in the hallways each level has bathrooms.
