Brief overview
The Daughters of Holy Mary of the Heart of Jesus arrived in Santiago de Compostela, by invitation of His Excellency Archbishop Julián Barrio Barrio, on September 3, 2021, the day on which he himself presided over the Eucharist with the Sisters, thereby leaving them charge of the Diocesan Retreat House, Via Lucis.
The house is situated on the university campus of Santiago and offers hospitality to groups of people who desire to go on a retreat or to those who have come on pilgrimage to this place.
The current community includes six of our sisters, whose tasks include caring for and maintaining the house and serving the guests.
We also collaborate with the pastoral activities entrusted to us within the Archdiocese.
