The D.O.Y.M.A.R. Prayer Movement in the United States

DOYMAR is an acronym in Spanish for the name of the prayer movement, originally founded in Spain in 1984, by our Mother Foundress, Mother María de Jesús Velarde.

It stands for Prayerful and Marian-Apostolic Disciples of the Redemption, which is what DOYMAR youth strive to become as they grow in their relationship with Jesus and Mary and come to understand in a deeply personal way the great gift of their redemption in Christ.

Currently, it is offered for:

Pilgrim Youth
(Young Women 17-25 years old)

Desire to seek, know, love and serve the Lord as a group and receive formation in the faith, light along the path toward holiness and aid to discern God´s will for their life. Their monthly gatherings include a talk by one of the Sisters, Eucharistic Adoration and testimonies of the participants.

Traveling Teens
(Girls 6th-10th Grade)

Desire to grow in their prayer life, guided by the Holy Spirit, in union with Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Their monthly prayer gathering includes Eucharistic Adoration, a talk given by the Sisters and community-building activities.

Eucharistic Girls (Girls 3rd-5th Grade)

Desire to grow in their relationship with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist. Their monthly meetings include introduction to Eucharistic piety and adoration, catechesis by the Sisters, songs and games.

Pre-Eucharistic Girls (Girls 1st-2nd Grade)

Prepare to receive their First Holy Communion or have already received it and desire to grow in their relationship with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist. Their monthly meetings include introduction to Eucharistic piety and adoration, catechesis by the Sisters, songs and games.

GOING DEEPER AS D.O.Y.M.A.R. YOUTH

  • Cenacles
    Are formed by D.O.Y.M.A.R. youth who aspire to be more committed members of the Association. These smaller groups seek to help them deepen their faith and their Christian commitment.
  • Solidary Associate Women
    Are young women (24 years old & up) who wish to live the spirituality of the Daughters of Holy Mary of the Heart of Jesus in the midst of the world in married or professional life.

    One Saturday a month

    10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Encounters begin with the Holy Mass, open to all.
